Class description

Introduction to the basics of watercolor painting This course is an introduction to the basics of watercolor painting – from brushes to paper, color theory, wet-on-wet painting, as well as glazing and wash techniques. You will gain an understanding of composition, foreground/background sequencing and the unique transparent qualities of the medium. After the initial discovery phase you will refine your skills by practicing still life, landscape or abstract painting. No previous knowledge is necessary.   • If you already have watercolor paints, paper and brushes, please bring them to class.
  • Withdrawals from a course must be made in writing to the office of the Volkshochschule beider Basel no later than seven days (including Saturday and Sunday) before the course begins and involves a cancellation charge of CHF 30.00. Later withdrawals will be charged in full. The date of receipt will be the date on which your letter reaches the office. Verbal withdrawals directed to the teacher are not valid. Please note that failure to pay course fees will not be accepted as cancellation.
